Dynamic linepack depletion models for natural gas pipeline networks

چکیده

Given the critical role played by natural gas in providing electricity, heat, and other essential services, better models are needed to understand dynamics of networks during extreme events. This paper aims at establishing appropriate fast simulation capture slow linepack depletion for ideal isothermal pipeline networks. Instead solving partial differential equations (PDE) on a large scale, three alternative implicit ordinary equation (ODE) techniques derived discussed. The first one is commonly used literature with slack node assumption. We show that system associated this model degenerate when flux injections controlled (i.e. specified) all nodes. To recover regularity under such condition, two novel ODE proposed different boundary conditions. They easy derive efficient simulate standard solvers. More importantly, they present useful frameworks analyzing how respond system-wide mass imbalances. These offer alternatives simulating based sources loads chosen be modeled, proven regular (non-degenerate) tree-structured tested 20-node Belgium network. results conventional assumption cannot effectively long term imbalance, while can characterize network behavior until completely depleted.

Predictive Control of Gas Injection in Natural Gas Transport Networks

The present sought to draw a comparison between Model Predictive Control performance and two other controllers named Simple PI and Selective PI in controlling large-scale natural gas transport networks. A nonlinear dynamic model of representative gas pipeline was derived from pipeline governing rules and simulated in SIMULINK® environment of MATLAB®. Control schemes were designed to provide a s...

Simulation model for natural gas transmission pipeline network system

This paper focuses on developing a simulation model for the analysis of transmission pipeline network system (TPNS) with detailed characteristics of compressor stations. Compressor station is the key element in the TPNS since it provides energy to keep the gas moving. The simulation model is used to create a system that simulates TPNS with different configurations to get pressure and flow param...
